The HP PhotoSmart C5101A - S20 scanner is a film and photo scanner that delivers quality printouts. It was specifically designed to scan photographs in various formats. These formats include 5'x7' (127mmx178mm) prints, mounted film, 35mm mounted slides and negatives, and film, negative and slide 35mm strips. This scanner comes with the HP PhotoSmart scanning software which makes it easier for the user to adjust and store scanned images. In order to scan photos with this device, the user must first run the HP PhotoSmart scanning software on the PC and set the preferred format on the scanner. The user can then orient the photo for insertion into the scanner and insert small prints and paper clippings in the photo sleeve which is included in the scanner package. The HP PhotoSmart CD also included in the package contains the Imaging Essential Multimedia tutorials wherein more information on the scanner's “How tos' is found.
